Heavy Duty Body Technician

Bus & Truck of Chicago (BTC) is the Midwest leader in large-scale commercial vehicle remanufacturing, accident repair, and maintenance. Located in Bedford Park, IL, BTC has earned a reputation for delivering high-quality work on large and complex jobs for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and large public and private sector customers. We service and repair all types of buses, trucks, and heavy-duty vehicles.

We are looking to hire Heavy-Duty Body Technicians and candidates will need to be available to work Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 4:30PM (30-min lunch included). Overtime is available on a case-by-case basis. Employees are paid weekly and starting pay is based on experience. Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental) are available after 90 days of employment and IRA is available after 1 year of employment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform Body Repairs on Heavy-Duty Vehicles (Buses, Trucks, etc.)
• Remove damaged sections of vehicles using metal-cutting tools/grinders
• Secure and fit replacement parts using welding equipment
• Mix polyester resins and hardeners to be used in restoring damaged areas, completing fiberglass repairs, and proper use of other body fillers like Bondo
• Grinding, sanding, masking, and otherwise preparing vehicles for painting
• Follow instructions from foremen

Salary

• $22-$35/hour paid weekly, based on experience

Must Have‍

• 3 Years Experience in Heavy-Duty Vehicle Repair
• Your Own Tools
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to Pass a Drug Test
• Positive Work Attitude and Attention to Detail
• Reliable Transportation to and from our shop

Education‍

• High school diploma or GED, Vocational or Technical Certification in vehicle repair preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations‍

• ICAR/ASE certification preferred but not required
